Accounting Engine Configuration
The majority of this configuration is performed by users with the following security roles assigned:
Journal Types
Journal Types - permanent and reversing, determine the behavior of a Journal within Fynapse. They have to be properly assigned to Posting Components on the Accounting Rules Navigator, to ensure correct processing within the Accounting Engine.
Event Mappings
Event Mappings - in the Accounting Engine, each Posting Component can be mapped to a single or multiple Business Event Types. The Posting Components mapped to each Business Event Type indicate which debit or credit entries to create for the given Business Event, based on the defined Posting Patterns.
Posting Components
Posting Components are configurations of DR/CR patterns which are the first step in creating Journals. Based on the criteria defined in a Posting Pattern, a Business Event will generate a number of Debit and Credit records.
Account Lookups
Account Lookups - Once a Business Event is matched with a Posting Component, it has to be assigned an Account. Only one Account can be assigned per one debit or credit entry. The Accounts are matched to entries based on a defined list of matching criteria.
