Instance Configuration and Management
The majority of this configuration is performed by users with the following security roles assigned:
System Settings
System Settings covers the configuration of general settings in Fynapse.
Business Date Configuration
Business Date is used to determine the statuses of periods in Fynapse, whether a period is open or closed.
Enable Multiple Currencies
Multiple Currencies is a functionality that allows you to store Functional Amounts and Reporting Amounts in different currencies imported in Business Events or calculated based on the Transaction Amount.
Please note that this functionality has to be enabled at the very beginning of setting up your instance, before you start configuring processing, as it affects nearly all areas of configuration.
Feature Flags
Feature Flags allow you to enable or disable new features in Fynapse.
Unposted Journals
Unposted Journals are part of Fynapse data architecture. Enabling this functionality will affect how Journals with future posting date will be stored, in a separate Entity or together with Journals that have already been posted. This functionality is by default enabled.

Security is used to create and manage access to Fynapse via groups, users, and roles,
Groups
A group is a set of users and roles that grant users belonging to such groups the same level of privileges and access to Fynapse data.
Roles
A role is a set of permissions that allows users having it to perform defined actions (from just viewing the screens to editing their contents) in particular Fynapse modules.
Users
A user is a person who has access to Fynapse with a username and login.
Data Permissions
Data Permissions define a user’s access to defined data sets to selected user groups. This helps manage the granularity of the access rules to reduce the chances of unauthorized data exposure.
Workflow Authorization
The Approval Workflow functionality allows you to set up a mechanism that does not allow users apply any changes to the configuration without a user with approver role reviewing and consequently approving or rejecting them.
Configuration Data
Fynapse allows you to upload and download the configuration of your instance in the form of Configuration Data JSON file.
