Overview

This section provides information about the types of calendars you can define in Fynapse.

What Is a Calendar?

Calendars are collections of dates created to assist system processes in determining when processing should occur, what dates should be used for certain types of accounting entries and aspects such as which fiscal period accounting should be entered.

What Do Calendars Do?

The application uses Calendars to determine:

  • Whether a particular date is a working day (WD*) or a non-working day (NWD*)
  • Into which period and particular date falls into

Types

There are two types of calendars:

  • Fiscal Calendars - which are a collection of dates used by the system to determine an entity’s financial periods
  • Business Calendars - which specify the working and non-working days in a time period
