2024.2.1

Release notes for Fynapse 2024.2.1

Bulk Operations - Extracts

Released under Feature Flag

If you want to test this feature please raise an ASD support ticket with Aptitude Software Support.

To ensure consistency with existing Fynapse configuration, we have extended the Bulk Configuration feature to include user defined Journal extract configurations. Going forward you will be able to download the bulk configuration inclusive of extract configurations and upload to another environment.

Given this enhanced functionality will impact your day-to-day operations, it will be released under an invisible feature flag, allowing you to test in a lower environment before enabling in Production.

For more details, refer to Configuration Data.

Support for Multiple Currencies - FX Revaluation

We implemented simplified FX revaluation process.

FX revaluation is the process of updating balances in functional and reporting currencies to the latest FX rates. The aim of the process is to capture the value of the fluctuating exchange rates and make sure we report that fluctuation in financial statements. This is different to FX conversion which happens on the Journal amounts.

This stage of implementation allows you to perform revaluation of functional and reporting amounts with the same set of parameters set globally for Fynapse.

For more details, refer to FX Revaluation.

Bulk Operations - Indexes

We implemented a feature that allows you to create indexes for selected attributes within a particular Entity stored in Finance Data Service. The configuration can be created and uploaded via a JSON file through Configuration Data and Data Structure Definition screens.

An index is a structure that stores all necessary information about a location of particular data in the database. Thus, time needed to locate and retrieve data is significantly reduced which positively impacts the database performance.

Please note that creating the index might take a while. While the process is running, the Entity for which the indexes are being created will be ‘blocked’, i.e. you will not be able to make any structural changes. Moreover, while the creation process is running, data processing and ingestion may be slower.

For more details, refer to Creating Indexes for Entities.
